UR ENough Charity Sweat: Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon

If someone were to talk to you about their mental health, what would you do? Would you run away, or would you run?

On October 21st 2018, Team UR Enough ran the city of Toronto in the Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon. With over 60 team members running together in support the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), these brave and bad-ass people actively helped to end the stigma.

We are here to say it’s okay to not be okay. It is okay to be human.
— Team UR Enough

Through the generous donations of friends, family, and community, Team UR Enough was successful at raising $18,708.06 for CAMH. This donation will help transform how our communities think about mental health and will support research, teaching, clinical care and treatment at one of our nation’s leading mental health hospitals. A collaborative effort that not only exceeded our team’s initial fundraising goal of $10,000, but was the catalyst to creating open and honest conversation about mental health.

Witnessing the team together with the phrase UR ENOUGH written across their chests was absolutely incredible. Our runners not only raised awareness, but were viewed as a beacon of hope for those that feel alone, that are struggling and afraid to speak up. Sharing the UR Enough message with others, our runners were a positive voice for change.

Our goal is to continue to create opportunities within our community that raise awareness, support mental wellness, and celebrate one another's own enough-ness, and this is just the beginning of what we call magic. Thank you to those who were at the forefront of this movement running, cheering and supporting. You have inspired us with your advocacy, and we firmly believe you will inspire many others as you continue to add and create conversations about mental health and other stigmatized states.

As UR Enough could not exist without the generous donations of our community, we must also thank our generous sponsors: Mike Krupica and Lululemon, who kindly donated Team UR Enough running shirts to our runners. Justine Stevens, Erin Carter, and Todd Fraser for your photography and videography on race day. Canadian Running Series for the opportunity to create change and empower our community.
